Seance - The Daisey Mae Story

Monday 26th September - Preview of New Show.
It is common for Theatre shows do run preview events and performances before the formal run of dates begins...
It is common for comedians to try out material on a ...
I would assume therefore that Magicians would do the same...
For me this was the first time of running a dress rehearsal preview of a full two hour show in front of an invited audience and I'm not sure why it's taken me this long to do it!
OK, the downside is having to cover the costs of hiring the venue BUT the pluses far outweigh these costs.
It's almost impossible to rehearse a mentalism show without an audience, and despite the scripting, blocking, routining that needs to be done its not until there are real people watching what you do are you likely to get any sense of the 'effectiveness' of your show.
Seance: The Daisey Mae story is a two hour show ending in a seance. I spent ages on a back story linking the effects I wanted to use and hopefully creating a sense of realism to what, is in effect, a very surreal show.
On Monday a small audience of around 30 people, including a couple of professional mediums, came to see the 'preview'. They were told it was a work in progress...
I can't begin to describe the valuable feedback I got from what they said; what I observed and how they reacted.
Just about everything that could go wrong did go wrong for the second half of the show; but none of this was apparent from the audiences point of view as a quick re-think during the interval meant that I could cover for the things that were not going to do as they were told during the pre-round-2 set-up. A magician friend in the audience knew what I was 'going for' in the second act but said that what was used to cover about 20 minutes was in keeping with the rest of the show. In essence it was that old thing of the audience not knowing what to expect so not missing what they did not know.Alcatel lucent 4A0-104 exam..
The audience were very positive in their comments on the entertainment value of the show and all said they would come back to see the paying show booked for November.
So from this experience I have not only learned the value of doing such a live preview but also have some valuable insights on how to streamline the show and make the 'public performances' so much better... I've also created a bit of a buzz which I might be able to 'ride' into the local shows in November.
So now to sell the show to a broader market.
I guess this idea will not be new to many, especially those who regularly present full evening shows. But I suspect that many magicians faced with the challenge of creating a two hour stage show would look to their cabaret repertoire and mix and match from tried and tested routines. They will of course rehearse, have dress rehearsals and technical run throughts - but I wonder how many put their raw, untested material 'out there' in such a preview show?
Love to hear from those who do...
And if you don't then please do... you learn so much about the tweaks your show needs before it goes 'live' and of course, develops with continuedHH0-440 performance.

Revenue Down? Bartering Is on the Up!

A drastic change in the economy calls for businesses to adapt in order to keep afloat, let alone make a profit. Redundancies, reducing overheads; you know the types of things!
The great thing is, businesses can keep "open as usual" thanks to bartering. It's nothing new, in fact, before a monetary value was put to note and coin, that's how the world worked. So is it time for bartering to come back? It already is!
You wouldn't know it, but bartering is big, on a world wide scale. There are barter networks full of thousands of businesses, all looking for the next good trade; but why!?
Barter makes use of something that almost every business has; idle resources. If a business has idle resources, there is room to make or save money using bartering. By thinking outside of the box, businesses can start to get their revenue figures back on track.
Idle resources could be anything; it really depends on the business. A web design firm may be paying staff 8 hours a day, but only have enough work for 6 hours a day. A camping wholesaler may have gone a bit crazy with the whole "economies of scale" approach and been left with 1,000 extra sleeping bags; items they might never sell!
Using the barter system, theyAlcatel lucent 4A0-103 exam could do a two way exchange and swap goods/services they don't need, for ones they do. Sounds simple? Not always!
Barter networks are great things. One of the main problems with the barter system is a business may find another business offering what they want, but the feeling is not mutual. The transaction will never happen without a facilitator.
Most barter networks have something called "trade dollars" and this is what helps them become the facilitator. So if a business charges $50 per hour for their time and barters 10 hours services, they are gifted 500 in trade dollars. They then use those trade dollars to purchase goods/services in the barter network that they require.
A lot of businesses barter their goods/services out at a lower rate, to ensure they are running at full capacity. They pick up extra business (possibly even long term clients), but this has no direct affect on the consumers that pay the sticky prices they offer on a day to day basis.
Business is changing. CashHH0-270 sales might be down for the majority, but this can be easily compensated by getting involved with bartering and making use of those idle resources!

Replacing Your Guitar Pickups? Here's What To Look Out For

Let's start out by saying that what is thought to be a good guitar pickup by one guitarist might not be considered great by another. This is all about the search for the best tone and everyone has a completely different opinion of what great tone is.
A well made pickup is just like a fine meal. It's the mixture of several different ingredients merged together to complete the magic recipe. A little too much garlic or not enough heat and your meal can be poor, sloppy coil windings or the wrong magnets (to name just two ingredients) and bang goes your pickup's tone. There are many aspects that need to come together and the various guitar pickup suppliers seem to have their unique take on it.
It's not easy to get that incredibly elusive 'special' tone. Even the much sort after Gibson PAF (Patent Applied For) humbucker pickups of the late 1950's were not all great sounding. The good examples from that era are probably the best sounding pickups you'll ever hear, but there were definitely some duds from the same period. This contrast was mostly due to the hand built nature of these products, with stories of some workers in the Gibson factory going off for a coffee and leaving the winder on for just a bit too long.
Listed below are some of the elements that will play an important part in the overall result of a guitar pickup build:
1. The build quality in general. The taping, soldering and general putting together of all the components.
2. The coil windings. The pattern, tension, number of turns, whether it is scatter wound (some prefer this to the more even Alcatel lucent 4A0-102 exammachine winding) and the type of wire.
3. The general quality of the materials used including the screws, magnets, bobbins etc.
4. Whether or not the pickups are wax potted. This is the process of sealing a pickup in a wax and paraffin mix to stop any microphonic feedback through the amp. Some say that a really great pickup doesn't need wax potting, in fact the old 1950's humbuckers weren't potted, but in reality most need it.
5. The balancing act between all the different components. For example the varying alnico and ceramic magnets balanced with the total number of coil winds is a major juggling act.
The other aspect to consider is of course your style of playing. For example a jazz guitarist might prefer a more rounded mellow sound with less output and maybe an Alnico 4 magnet. On the other hand a rocker could well be looking for much higher output based around a ceramic magnet.
There are some wonderful established pickup makers out there such as Di Marzio andHH0-110 Seymour Duncan and also some great new boutique pickup builders like Tub Guitar Pickups. If you want to give your axe a shot in the arm you might like to check them out.

Reflections Upon the University Level Art Class

When the time had arrived several months ago and I decided to select an art class for this semester's requirement, I did not enter the topic totally naive and unprepared. I did, in fact, have a working knowledge of basic artistic principles. I had ventured forth with my own expressions on canvas often times in the past. I had developed a mental list of my favorite painters and even a few artists which I did not particularly admire. All in all, I was in no way an expert nor will I be one at the conclusion of my week ten lesson, but I knew what types of paintings appealed to my human sensations. The art class had however, generously provided me with the proper tools so that I could now describe my feelings in an artistic manner.
Overall, my current art class resulted in one of the better experiences which I could have encountered at the university level. Far too often in the course of our demanding lives we overlook many of life's pleasures in the guise of responsibility. We frequently hear excuses that I don't have time for art or I have other commitments which must take priority. Few people recognize that we also owe a sense of accountability to our capacity to perceive beauty as well as the appreciation of the values set forth upon a blank canvas by those who came before us. Our life's sum totals must include these minor distinctions as well as the more predominant necessities of life.
One of the questions which the art class had implanted within my mind was exactly where do we locate that fine dividing line between practical graphics and a measurable art form? We see potential topics of art around us each and everyday often without recognizing it as a viable means of expression. In the majority of the cases we often fail to appreciate the view afforded us as it relates to fine art comprehension and merely pass it off as another everyday incident.
As I ponder the question and watch the various activities that are being generation from the assorted creative juices, I see common rubbish being constructed into works of art, I view what was previously thought of as works of vandals now being considered murals of high distinction placed upon the side of buildings. One of my fellow students in the class had chosen digital art as their final topic. In some previous circles this may Alcatel lucent 4A0-101 examnot had been thought of as a valued addition to the field of artistic endeavors. Seeing the fluid changes involved in the concepts of art, it becomes obvious that anything can become a work of art if the proper emotion and passion is placed into effect when the object is created. That essentially divulges that the key ingredient behind art must lie in ones emotional mindset as they devise the initial concept for their project.
As with any art related class this one motivated my appetite and I was ready to grab my assortment of brushes, a canvas or two and try to express my thoughts and emotions as did those masters from hundreds of years ago. I always feel when I stand or sit in front of my easel that I have some of the finest minds watching carefully over my shoulder. To the left we have Mr. Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni along with my friend Leonardo both of which guide my every brush stroke. Off to the side, I can see Raffaello Sanzio always placing me in a position where I must choose a specific path of art as he himself had done when painting his "Vision of a Knight". I could move on indefinitely describing my various friends who join me at my canvas but there are simply far too many.
I think the major point to be made here is that we must make some time to enjoy the beauty that these elders have generously bestowed upon us. Its time we slowed down our pace a bit and inhale a deep breath than relaxed in front of my friend's works of art. It will do you a world of good and it is likely to provide you with a "warm fuzzy" feeling at the endHH0-120

Reasons For Attending Screenwriting School

Many people want to go to screenwriting school because it provides them the opportunity to enter the industry after graduating. Learning to write feature films is an excellent skill that many people want to learn. It takes a while to learn a new skill, so people should not be too hard on themselves if they don't get it right straight away.
People learn at their own pace and should keep practicing. By engaging in discussions, watching television documentaries, reading study guides and other literature it will help. There is a wealth of on-line lessons that people can complete, that will help their progression.
Listening, being aware of opportunities and talking to others about writing for film will all help. To learn film writing quickly, it will help to enjoy the learning experience. Try not to do too much too soon, take small steps.
Before learning to write for TV, a person needs to ask themselves why they want to learn this skill. If it is because someone else wants them to learn it, then it is the wrong motive. Some people have pushy parents that want their children to learn something because they missed opportunities in their lives. Like each decision in life, studying at film schools must be something that the individual wants to do.
If an individual wants to learn to write feature films, they should set easy goals. A goal might be to apply for film schools and attend interviews. Each person should make an agenda. How long will it take to reach specific goals? This will vary for each given situation. If revising for an examination, then a person may need to schedule more time. If someone works 60 hours a week, they should not expect to study for 40 hours a week, as this will lead to burn out. However, some people have to work to pay for their educationAlcatel lucent 4A0-100 exam.
It is best to spend small amounts of time studying, at first. Use material that challenges, but is not too complicated. Always be realistic and find out what works. Making a commitment to study is important for students wishing to get ahead. If a student is not enjoying their study then they are not doing it right. Studying has to be enjoyable, rather than boring.
A person should be able to read well before they can write well. Listening to other people's conversations will give people a good grasp of how dialect is written. It also helps to carry a tape recorder around to record conversations that will then be translated into script. There are different methods that work for each individual script writer.
Each day, a student should practice film writing for a set period of time. Going to screenwriting school will help people to make peer connections. Classmates can be a valuable resource in future employment. Therefore, it makes sense for people to make as many friends as they can. Once a person has HIO-301graduated they should keep in touch with their classmates. Classmates might end up giving a person, a valuable job in the future.

Raven Teen Titans

Raven is a comic book and animated character from the Teen Titans. She has a range of skills that include the ability to teleport herself and fight. She also has incredible self control because when she gets angry her powers come alive and can be very hard to control. These days in her animated form, Raven is a very different looking character than how she originally appeared in the 1980s comics. For one she has a much younger body and a slightly different demeanor.
Raven's popularity today stems primarily from the Teen Titans animated series. The thing with Raven is that many teens today feel they can relate to the character, especially those who consider themselves Emo or Goth.
Raven is an integral member of the Teen Titans, oftentimes she advises the other Titans on certain matters and in the main she remains very calm, even when the going gets tough. While the other Teen Titans goof around quite a bit, Raven spends a lot of her time mediating and reading for enjoyment and also to remain calm so her dark powers don't begin. She has had a tough life really, being the daughter of Trigon, who is the epitome of all things evil. She has managed to see the light though and eventually she destroys her father. Her powers will always remain dark but as long as Raven stays on the right side of the line the world has nothing to fear from her, and she'll help everyone stay safe.
Over the years Raven has used Adobe 9A0-148 exama variety of spells to protect herself, her friends, and defeat the dark forces that seem to constantly be knocking at her door.
Her most famous spell is Azarath Metrion Zinthos! She recites this mantra in order to activate her powers and mentally prepare herself for battle. Interestingly if Raven is prevented from reciting this then her powers won't activate and she'll be rendered helpless!
Necronom Hezberek Mortix! This spell is to be used with extreme caution! It's incredibly powerful, and I mean uber-powerful. It was taught to her by the character Malchoir, but seriously should not be used unless there is no other alternative and death is the only outcome.
Azarath Metrion Zinthos...Carazon Rakashas Endere...Vaserix Endrien Azararth...Azarath, AZARATH! This spell basically opens a portal that Raven can travel through. She uses this quite a lot to get around
Raven continues to remain popular and at cosplay conventions you'll always find a few people dressed up as her, with varying degrees of success! HIO-201She is by far the favorite Teen Titan with old and young!
